Robert Edward Tietjen

Robert Tietjen, 77 of Holiday Heights section of Berkeley Township was peacefully called to heaven on September 28, 2021.  Robert was born August 2, 1944.  He married the love of his life, Pat on April 21, 1968 and they began their journey together residing in Hillsdale for over 32 years, moved to Pennsylvania for 14 years and finally settle in Berkeley Township.

Robert enjoyed his career with Bell Atlantic for over 35 years.  He loved model trains; it was a hobby for him and his brother.  He was an avid Yankee and Giant fan.  Many family vacations were to amusement parks, all loved roller coasters.  He was the happiest when spending time with family and friends.  He had a talent for fixing and building things and was always the first to offer help to any family and friends.  He had a big heart, his kindness, caring and positive attitude made him who he was and he will always be remembered in the hearts of all the people he touched.

Robert is predeceased by his parents, Frederick Tietjen and Alice Krueger Tietjen; and brother, Fred Tietjen.

Robert is survived by his wife and soul mate, Pat Tietjen; son, Greg Tietjen who he was so proud of, daughter in law, Leslie Tietjen who he so loved; granddaughter, Madison, who he absolutely adored, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. The family especially would like to thank the entire staff ant Complete Care at Green Acres for all their loving and compassionate care.  Words cannot express our gratitude.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 9am to 11:30am at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, New Jersey 08757.  A Memorial Mass will follow at 12:00pm Thursday, October 7, 2021 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church.  Committal services will be held privately.
