Ronald “Roz” Rozwadowski, 77, of Forked River, Lacey Twp., NJ and Key Largo, FL, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
He was born in Newark, NJ. He previously lived in Beachwood and in Seaside Park, NJ before moving to Forked River in 1999, where he divided his time at his Key Largo home. In both New Jersey and Florida, Ron cherished his time with family and friends while poolside at home, at karaoke nights, and connecting with friends at weekly events. Ron was the friendly life of the party who was respected and loved by all.
Ron was an expert at advising and helping friends solve problems with their house, car, boat, and yard. Ron had the expertise, kindness, and willingness to help anyone anytime with any problem. And did he ever have the tools!
Ron was a graduate of East Brunswick High School and received his Associate’s Degree from Ocean County College. While in New Jersey, Ron was a coach for Beachwood boys and girls soccer clubs.
He was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran, attaining the rank of Sergeant where he was a Recon Force Sentry Dog Handler. Ron was a true patriot. He was proud and loyal to the United States of American and sought constantly to encourage and support the strength and stability of our country.
Ron was a New Jersey State Trooper for 26 years, retiring in 1996 at rank of DSFC. Following his retirement, he worked for The New Jersey Office of The Attorney General Division of Criminal Justice where he dedicated 20 years.
He was a member of the New Jersey State Police Former Troopers Association, the American Legion, the Elks Lodge, and the Loyal Order of Moose.
Ron was predeceased by his mother Jean Rozwadowski.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Linda (nee Hydrusko) Rozwadowski, his two daughters Wendy Dravis and her husband Clinton of Point Pleasant, NJ., Kelly Loudermilk and her husband Timothy of Panama City Beach, FL. and “family member” Richard “Bush” Holcomb of Key Largo. He was “Poppy” to three granddaughters Avery and Gracyn Dravis and Sara Dravis Hulsart, and grandfather to two step grandchildren Hannah Montplaisir and Ellen Cone.
The entire Rozwadowski family truly appreciates the love and care that our close friends and family have shown us during the many good times throughout Ron’s life and now during this most difficult time. We love and appreciate each one of you.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at https://t2t.org/. Interment will be held at a later date at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
