Ruth (Mandell) Treffinger

Ruth Mandell Treffinger, age 99, passed away peacefully with her loving husband and children by her side. Ruth was born on October 11, 1923 to Isadore and Ida Mandell in Plainfield NJ. She was the youngest of their 5 children.

Ruth married the love of her life, Edward, on July 16, 1950 and they were also blessed with 5 children, Michael, David, Thomas, Daniel and Linda.

They shared nearly 73 years of marriage and could not be more devoted to each other. They also had many pets over the years that we would be remiss not to mention because of the very special place they had in her life.

Ruth is the quintessential mother and wife, always worrying about the well-being of her husband and children, even when she did not have to, she needed to. Ruth also greatly loved her grandchildren, Sarah Beth, Laura, Evan, and Jarrod. Ruth loved family gatherings when she got to see her great grandchildren, Daniel, Catherine, John and Andrew. Her eyes would glow with love and wonder as she watched the legacy she created. Ruth was a devout Christian - saying the rosary daily and living her life for God through the lives of her family.

Ruth is survived by her loving and devoted husband Edward, her son and daughter-in­-law Michael and Carolyn, son David, son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Sherry, son and daughter-in-law Danny and Lisa, daughter and daughter-in-law Linda and Stacey; grandchildren, Sarah Beth and husband Adam Wood, Laura, Evan, Jarrod and great grandchildren Daniel, Catherine, John and Andrew Wood.

Please join us in celebrating her incredible almost 100 year life on Thursday, June 8, 2023 4:00pm – 6:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass of Christian will be offered Friday, June 9, 2023 10:00am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
