Salvatore Mastroberti Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Salvatore J. Mastroberti, aged 92, on March 31, 2024. A cherished resident of the Holiday Heights section of Berkeley Township, Salvatore departed this world leaving behind a legacy of community service, patriotism, and dedication to the place and people he loved.

Born on October 9, 1931, in New York City, New York, Salvatore's journey led him to become a pillar of the Berkeley Township community, where he spent many fruitful years. His commitment to public service was evident through his tenure as a School Board member and Councilman for Berkeley Township. Salvatore's relentless advocacy led to the cessation of 4-ton limit trucks on Davenport Road and prevented the establishment of a Class B recycling plant, safeguarding the community's well-being.

Salvatore's love for his community was paralleled by his dedication to numerous organizations, including the Berkeley and Senior Republican Clubs, the Italian American Club, and the VFW Post 10185. He also served as a Director for Holiday Heights, further emphasizing his commitment to the community's prosperity.

A proud veteran, Salvatore honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War, demonstrating his unwavering patriotism and courage. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career, retiring as a Terminal Manager from Carolina Freight, where he was respected for his leadership and integrity.

Salvatore was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maryann, leaving a void that cannot be filled. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Mastroberti; daughter, Jodi Koster; son-in-law, Stefan Koster; and granddaughter, Eliza Koster, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Salvatore's life was a testament to his strong values, love for his family, and dedication to community service. He touched many lives with his generosity, spirit, and unwavering commitment to making a difference.
