Sharon D. McLaughlin, 73 of Berkeley Township, NJ passed away on Tuesday April 27, 2021.
Sharon was born in Kearny, NJ, but became a resident of Toms River, NJ in 1971. Sharon worked as an Account Manager for New Beginnings Rehabilitation Center in Lakehurst, NJ, and a Hostess for the Blue Fountain Restaurant in Toms River, NJ.
Sharon was never one to put herself first. She was actively involved in her 11 grandchildren’s and two great-grandchildren’s lives. She attended every event and game despite weather conditions or health issues. She always smiled and said, “I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.” Sharon was a big fan of the NY Yankees and Giants. If you came to visit she would have a game on and have a hot meal for you no matter the hour. She also loved cooking and having the entire family together for the holidays. She was the heart of her family and a dedicated friend to all.
Sharon is survived by her undoubtedly devoted husband of 54 years, John F. McLaughlin Sr.., her loving children, Lisa and her husband Karl, John and his wife Lisa, Gregory and his fiancé Laura, and Pamela and her fiancé John. She has two surviving sisters who she had remained close with throughout their lives, Deborah and husband Carl Cambria, and Georgeann Slater, her grandchildren in which the world revolved around, Laura and husband Drew, Mark and wife Paige, Gregory and fiancé Antonia Collina, Jillian, Sidney, Jacob, Carmela, Adalena, Michael, Mia and Max. Great-grandchildren, Mason and Lorenzo & two more on the way, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Dorothy Tanzola.
Family will receive friends on Sunday May 2, 2021 from 2-5pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday May 3, 2021 at 10am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Toms River, NJ. Committal will be private.
