Steven A. Siakos, 93, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024.
Born in Selio, Albania, he moved to America in 1938.He lived in New York City before living in Edison, NJ. He moved to Toms River in 2021.
Steven worked for Swiss Air at JFK Airport for many years, retiring in 1987.
He was a United States Marine Corps Korean War Combat Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart.
Steven lived for his family and would help anyone he could. He loved helping veterans, and anyone in need. He also loved animals, he especially enjoyed our new puppy, Miley. His favorite pastimes were going to Atlantic City and Saratoga.
He is survived by his wife Nadia (nee Scochemaro), his goddaughter/niece Elizabeth Calabro of Toms River, NJ, a beloved Papou to Katherine (Colin Green) Calabro of Maryland and Thomas Calabro of Toms River, a nephew John Vassiliou of Astoria, NY, a niece Stacy Vassiliou of Astoria, NY. Predeceased in death by his parents Anastasio and Athena Siakos and a sister Bessie Vassiliou of Astoria, NY.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 3:00pm – 7:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A funeral service will be offered Thursday, August 29, 2024 12:30pm at St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, Toms River. Burial to follow at St. Vladimir Cemetery, Jackson, NJ.
