Susan McConway (nee Sheridan), 92 of Berkeley Township passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 25, at home.She was born on Oct. 19, 1933 in Rathmullan,County Donegal, Ireland to Joseph and Kathleen Sheridan.
Susan emigrated to the United States in 1956. She raised her family in Maplewood and retired to Toms River in 2002. Susan was very social and always the life of the party. She enjoyed dancing and playing cards with friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 yrs, Owen McConway, her son Brian and two daughters Kathleen Defino (David) and Sadie Quinlan (Joseph). Susan had eight grandchildren who she adored, Bryan Defino (Pryor), Samantha Defino (Nicholas), Shannon McConway (Stephen), Lauren McConway, Sarah Kate McConway, Owen Quinlan (Vanessa), Kevin Quinlan (Lauren) and Joseph Quinlan (Brittany). She had two twin great granddaughters, Willa and Zoe Quinlan.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday March 29, 2026 3-7pm at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday March 30, 2026 10am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Township. Entombment will follow at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Township, NJ.
