Tammy Rachel Coyle (née Nadler), passed away in the early hours of January 19, 2025 at the age of 62. Tammy will be terribly missed by her husband Mike and her dear son Brandon, whom she loved deeply and cared for through her life.
Tammy was born in Vineland, NJ on February 15, 1962, the youngest daughter of Helen and Bernard Nadler, who were both Holocaust survivors. She attended Rutgers University, graduating in 1985 with a degree in Communication, and moved to Jersey City where she embarked on a career in marketing. She worked for various New York area companies including Swarovski Crystal, Maidenform, Krups North America and SS White and earned an MBA in Marketing from Pace University. Later she transitioned to teaching as a professor of marketing at Brookdale College in Monmouth County NJ.
Tammy was a force of nature. In college she was a ringleader of her friends in too many escapades to mention, and as a natural leader she rose to become the president of the co-ed chapter of Tau Epsilon Phi (now the Georgian Society). She would not take no for an answer, and achieved her goals with steely resolve. Tammy was adamantly loyal to her friends and stayed in touch with them, curious about what they were up to and supporting them in any way she could. Tammy was a great listener; if you needed advice and asked Tammy, you better be ready for an honest answer. She did not pull her punches. If you had a problem, Tammy was on your side like no one else, strongly agreeing that you were wronged and helping fight against whomever wronged you. Tammy was a committed feminist who loved going to marches in Washington and she was proudly pro-choice. She loved doing craft projects and was truly gifted at stitching and quilting. Many of her friends and family members have treasured quilts that she made. Her home is full of the many lovely things she created.
Tammy always wanted a family and after she met her true love, Mike, they married in 2000 in classic Tammy style. There were multiple wedding events, including one in Spring Lake NJ and another in Las Vegas. Her Las Vegas wedding featured an Elvis, stretch limos, parties in hotel suites and plenty of Champagne. Tammy was a beautiful bride. Tammy and Mike moved to Toms River in the early 2000’s for the Jersey Shore lifestyle that they loved and to be closer to family. Tammy loved her home and decorated it carefully, watching HGTV programs and planning her next reno project. In recent years she created a sewing room dedicated to her fantastic stitching and quilting.
After Tammy was diagnosed with a particularly aggressive form of cancer she applied her famed determination to dealing with it, beating it back over and over again with the force of her will so that she could raise Brandon as the best mom she could be. For the next 20+ years she brought Brandon to countless hockey, baseball and football games, gave him advice and counsel on college and career choices and supported and loved him as an exemplary mom. Tammy was so proud of Brandon as he graduated from Florida Atlantic University and embarked on a career in professional football management.
Tammy is survived by her brother, Ivan Nadler and his wife, Jamie.
She was predeceased by her sister, Hedy Nadler. Additionally, she is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mike Coyle, and his siblings: William Coyle and his wife, Marilyn, Robert Coyle and his wife, Debbie (deceased), Cynthia Kropa and her husband, James (deceased) and Elizabeth Ilic and her husband, Nicholas. Her sharp wit and caring friendship is dearly remembered by too many friends to mention.
She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and shared an especially close connection with Paige Nadler and Lauren Kelly and her husband Stephen. She was delighted to welcome her newest grand niece, Natalie Kelly in 2024.
She was predeceased by her loyal and beloved Schnoodle, Molly, who brought her years of joy and companionship.
