Terence Young

Terence Young, 87, of Toms River, NJ passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Born in Manhattan, NY, he was a longtime resident of Middletown, NJ, before moving to Toms River in 2024.

Terence received his Bachelor’s Degree from New York City College.

He was a Mechanical Engineer for PSE&G in Newark, NJ for many years before his retirement.  Prior to PSE&G, Terence was a Pipefitter at the Brooklyn Naval Yard.

Terence loved history, walking, exercising, conversing with others and his family!  He was a very kind man and loved life! 

He was predeceased by his parents George and Josephine Young and his siblings Johnny, Carol and Agnes.

He is survived by his two daughters Joann Young and her husband David Johnson of Bayville, NJ, Jennifer Kessler and her husband Johnathan of Middletown, NJ, a brother George Young and his wife Joan of Long Island, NY, seven grandchildren Eric, Matthew, Jason, Gregory, Evan, Rebecca, and Michael, two great grandchildren Theodore and Wyatt, his wife  Victoria Young, a nephew George Tobias and nieces Tracy, Christine, Denise, and Stefanie.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, August 3, 2025 12:00pm – 2:00pm with a funeral service to be offered at 1:30pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O’Connell Chapel, 706 Hwy 9, Bayville, NJ.

Following the visitation, a luncheon will be held at 3:00pm at MJ’s Restaurant Bar & Grill, 905 Bay Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721.
