Walter Malinowski, Jr., 84 of Toms River, passed from this life peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 surrounded by his family. Walter was born June 3, 1940 in Somerville, New Jersey to the late Walter and Mildred Malinowski. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He received his Bachelors degree in History and Economics from Rider University. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was a tireless volunteer within his community, serving as member and former President of the Seaside Rotary Club, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge – Ortley Beach, and the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree. Walter was also a Leader of Boy Scout Troop 67 Thomas A Edison Counsel for more than 10 years. He was a prestigious Order of the Arrow member and attended the Philmont National Scout Reservation. An avid guitarist and musician, he was a member of the band The Jays which played extensively throughout Central New Jersey in the 1960s. In his professional life, Walter was a supervisor at Movie Lab, a motion picture film development company in New York City. He then moved on to get his Certified Financial Planning license and started his own company, Focus Financial Group, which he presided over for nearly 40 years. He loved spending time outside working in the yard, sitting on the beach, watching his grandchildren and eating seafood. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Walter is predeceased by his parents, Walter Malinowski and Mildred Dendis Malinowski. Walter is survived by his wife, Gloria Lapczynski Malinowski; son, Walter Malinowski, III., and his wife Christine of Toms River; daughters, Gloria Paradise and her husband John of East Brunswick; Susan Gomez and her husband David of Toms River; Christy Wantrobski and her husband Daniel of Moorestown; sister, Elaine Helton of Palm Coast, Florida; grandchildren, Trevor; Miranda; Dylan; Dawn; Danny; Jaclyn; Rebecca; Holly; Richard; Aniella; Sara and Jessica.
