Wojciech “Walter” Kowalski, 88 of Berkeley Township, passed from this life peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Wojciech was born in Drohiczyn, Poland on July 15, 1934 to the late Stefan and Leokadia Kowalski. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served honorably during the Korean War in the United States Army. He was a hardworking man who in his leisure, enjoyed playing cards. He was also an accomplished soccer, volleyball and table tennis player. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Wojciech is predeceased by his parents, Stefan Kowalski; Leokadia Kaminski Kowalski; brothers, Stanley Kowalski; Edmund Kowalski; Casimir Kowalski and sisters, Barbara Radecki and Mary Skal.
Wojciech is survived by his wife, Marian Kowalski; sons, Richard Kowalski and his wife Laura; Ronald Kowalski and his wife Mari; Robert Kowalski and his wife Jennifer; daughter, Christine Lubas and her husband John; brother, Zenon Kowalski and his wife Alina and sister; Irene Rypinski and her husband Andrew; grandchildren, Eric Kowalski and his wife Monika, Timothy Kowalski, Mary Vaccarello and her husband Andrew, RJ Kowalski, Alexandra Kowalski, Charlie Kowalski, Stephen Lubas and Andrew Lubas; great grandchildren Richard Kowalski, Grzegorz Kowalski and Grayson Vaccarello.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm and Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 8:45 to 9:45 at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Township. Private family burial will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Repass to follow funeral at Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, Toms River NJ.
